Midea brings cooked meals made even healthier

Dining out on breaks has been a usual thing for most people, especially to those who haven’t got enough time to prepare their food in the morning. Kids get their meals in the school canteen from their allowance money, while young adults like college students and working professionals get to choose their next meal from their favorite eatery, fast food, or a newly opened restaurant that fancies their curiosity.

Home-cooked meals though are making a comeback especially to those who would want to save more from buying their meals from the cheapest eatery to the fanciest casual dining place. It is also widely believed that bringing in home-cooked meals for lunch is healthier because every ingredient is handpicked.  It has also become popular to health buffs because they can plan out their own diet program and count the calories, while getting specific nutrients that they need.

Midea, the world’s leading consumer appliances manufacturer, offers a solution in creating home-cooked meals with their lineup of cookers that make preparing home-cooked dishes easy and turn the freshest ingredients into not just delicious meals, but healthier as well. Their home solutions have always been surprisingly friendly in more ways than one. They are known for their ease of use, finishing every chore faster than usual, which gives people more time for themselves and the whole family. Midea products are also easy on the pocket and its features make it safe around kids. One of Midea’s brand ambassadors and an avid fan of Midea’s Induction Cooker, Chef Rob Pengson shares that “Midea’s Induction Cooker is top level technology which is great for cooking and it is very efficient because it doesn’t waste energy.”

Some people might think that induction cookers would be very costly on the electric bill, but unlike the conventional electric cooker, Midea’s Induction Cookers could actually give a lot of savings even as compared to buying gas tanks regularly. And because it heats faster, it saves 37% of the electric consumption against the conventional electric stove. This quick cooking feature locks in the nutrients in the food which make every home-cooked meal healthier for everyone in the family.

It has safety features like flameless heating, auto safety shut-off function and auto cooling that are very relevant especially if there are kids in the house. Pre-programmed functions make it user friendly, even for first-time users as well.

Midea has a very versatile Digital Multi-Cooker that not only cooks the perfect rice with its Thermal Circulation Technology that ensures even heating in the cooking pot, but it could also create other dishes with its 8 pre-programmed functions that make preparing home-cooked meals fast and easy. It has the Smart Fuzzy Logic Control Technology which makes automatic adjustments to the cooking time and temperature— without having to worry about it while everyone is preparing for the day ahead. These time friendly features make every household free from all the stress in the kitchen. And it only costs Php 5 of electric consumption to cook the perfect rice, while the same quick cooking feature locks all the nutrients in the food.

To make sure that everyone gets all the nutrients needed from every home-cooked meal, Chefs Rob and Sunshine Pengson suggest that everyone should be diligent enough immediately consume most of the perishable ingredients. “We tend not to overstock and just buy what we’ll need for few days or a week. It involves more trips to the grocery but it ensures that you’re buying ingredients at the height of their freshness.”

The Chefs added that people should always go for the freshest ingredients and always check the colors and firmness of every ingredient. Smelling though is the best way to tell if an ingredient is still fit for cooking. This ensures that every meal prepared with Midea’s line-up of cookers will have better flavor and will always be rich in nutrients. This is very important for both Chefs Rob and Sunshine, especially now that they have a toddler at home, who needs all the nutrients for him to grow strong.

“My son loves spaghetti, so sometimes I try to add some vegetables, like carrots and mushrooms, in there,” Chef Rob shares. “We explain to him how fruits and vegetables will make him big and strong, so he will be more open to eating them,” Chef Sunshine adds. The whole family enjoys eating pasta like their son, because it can also produce a great dish just by using some leftover food. And having these dishes cooked with Midea’s Induction Cooker or Digital Multi-Cooker, every family can enjoy not only the most delicious and healthy home-cooked meals, but also the time they spend together at the dining table.

Tips to Fireproof Your Home

Fire incidents are considered as common as the perennial hot summer season in the Philippines. Every year, fire cases all around the country destroy resources and displace families. March once again marks the observance of Fire and Burn Prevention Month to alleviate this country-wide problem.
In 2015, The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) recorded a total of 1,727 fire incidents in March alone. March is considered the hottest month of the year, with the elevated temperature attributed for some of the incidents that occur during its period.
Homes are very prone to fires and the kitchen, specifically, is among the areas that are very susceptible to such accidents. In January and February last year, 70 fires came from unattended cooking stoves while 162 incidents were caused by problems with electrical lines.
With the kitchen being one of the most important areas of a household, making it a safer place should be a top priority for homemakers. Below are some tips to make your kitchen a fireproof place.
  1. Keep your focus
One of the leading reasons behind kitchen fires is neglect. Often, it is easy to get distracted and leave a dish cooking. This kind of neglect causes the most injuries, deaths, and property damage than other roots of home fires.
  1. Keep a fire extinguisher close
A fire extinguisher is necessary in any home. Keep one ready in the kitchen and store it in a place 10 feet away from the stove, in a spot where it is easy to grab. All members of the household should know how to use it in case of emergencies. Note also that all fire extinguishers should always be refilled every six to seven years to function properly.
  1. Keep from storing items on top of the stove
It is easy to be less mindful of your actions while caught in a cooking mood. Refrain from placing things on top of a stovetop since this kind of surface can easily start a flame when it gets in contact with anything flammable. Instead, keep things orderly in cabinets and cupboards.
  1. Make sure your cooking appliances are free from crumbs and scraps
Leftover pieces of food from stovetops, ovens, and toasters can catch fire so make sure to clean these cooking appliances after use. Unplug them from their sockets before cleaning and keep the cables away from water.
  1. Go fireproof
It is nearly impossible to entirely fireproof a kitchen with all the flammable materials in the area. However, while it doesn’t entirely cancel out the probability of a fire, using cooking appliances that are designed for safety can add a layer of protection to this part of the home.
Induction cookers, for example, lessen the risk of fire accidents. The Induction Cookerfrom Midea, one of world’s largest manufacturers of domestic appliances, is a good example of a household partner that values safety as much as efficiency.
The induction cooker removes the risk for burns with its flameless technology. It also protects your home from possible gas leakages.
In addition, this kitchen essential also works faster than an average electric stove as it heats up 25% faster than the latter. It also has an energy-saving Piso Meal feature which uses up 1Php worth of electricity for every 4 minutes of cooking or heating.
Make your kitchen safe the whole year round with these nifty tips. A little precaution and awareness can go a long way when it comes to preserving the harmony in the household.

Midea makes your kitchen your favorite place this Christmas

Almost all homemakers recognize that their kitchen is the one place where they will stay the most this Christmas.  Regardless of whether they are fulltime mothers or working ladies who spend time in an office eight hours a day, they still have the last say on the kind of cuisine that will be laid on the breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner table.

The tension increases especially during the holidays, given the many meals they have to prepare, the many visitors they have to entertain, and the delicacies they might want to bake themselves and give away as special gifts.

Thanks to Midea, the global brand and the largest producer of consumer appliances. Holidays and all that works that goes in the kitchen can be fun. Homemakers will find that the Midea’s microwave and induction cooker are invaluable instruments in whipping up those traditional, favorite dishes preferred by their loved ones.

Midea’s microwave oven can warm up ingredients or a frozen dish in just 90 seconds.  It can prepare easy-to-cook recipes in that same amount of time. Christmas ham can be sliced and cooked in less than two minutes, prepared just in time for the noche buena and as soon as the kids come home from their caroling and partying. Other mouth-watering meat which the family loves, such as hotdogs and bacon, can come out crispier, making each bite of them memorable.

Guilty pleasures such as pork contain less than ten percent of their original fat; cooking them using traditional frying would have left the fat intact. This reduced amount of fat makes the food a bit more nutritious than normal, making this Christmas dining experience almost guiltless.

Midea’s induction cooker also provides a quick turnaround when it comes to cooking.  The time spent in cooking dishes by using an electric stove is reduced by 25 percent. This appliance has a heating adjustment option that allows for more precise cooking; the homemaker can observe the degree of heat that is being applied to the food and accordingly adjust if she has to lessen or increase the temperature.

All of Midea’s kitchen appliances have been designed to help the homemaker, the food buff, and the kitchen aficionado come up with their favorite dishes quickly, with the least amount of difficulty, but with a larger share of the nutrients and the delightful taste intact.   Homemakers using these appliances just might find that this Christmas, their usual cooking tasks have been transformed into a culinary adventure – and instead of dreading the time that they go to the kitchen, they just might look forward in staying in it.
