Mega Prime Launches Rewards Program, Renews Marian Rivera

Shopee Grants Scholarships Worth ₱100,000 each to its First Batch of Shopee Scholars




Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, awarded a one-year scholarship grant worth 100,000 each to the first batch of Shopee Scholars. Launched in July, Shopee Scholars is an education assistance program created for the benefit of sellers and their families. Among the numerous applicants, Victor Voltaire Cabanes, Shana Catherine Quilalang, and Johanna Caresse Eusebio, were chosen because of their academic excellence and essay entries.

It has been a year since our Homecoming to Teen Love, this year, Coke Studio brings us its 3rd Season: MyFeels. Indeed, no one does it better than Coke when it comes to launches with the Coke Studio Music Festival that commenced the Coke Studio Season 3: MyFeels last August 23 at the Circuit Makati with our hosts from the Summer Concert Ylona Garcia and Justin Quirino. Headlined by Coke Studio Season 3 artists, we welcomed the rainy season with rush of water and stream of feelings ranging from love, freedom, independence, and moving forward. We moved to the groove with Iñigo Pascual, Ron Henley, Al James, Lola Amour, This Band, and Miss Sarah Geronimo while Janine Teñoso, Clara Benin, Bea Lorenzo, Silent Sanctuary, Brisom, St. Wolf, Just Hush, UDD, and Morisette serenaded us with their solo performances. Also giving us surprise numbers were Coke Studio Seasons 1 and 2 alums Ben & Ben, December Avenue, and IV of Spades. We used to be shy about sharing what we feel, no matter what it is, to people around us even the ones we trust. Coke Studio: MyFeels is here to turn the tables, its time to celebrate our feels and make it known that no one can dictate the validity of our feelings. Just when we thought 2019 is going too fast and time is running out for us, Coke Studio came to the rescue with its 3rd Season and made us realize to celebrate every single thing no matter how little they are, look out for the possibilities that learning from triumphs and slumps can give us, and keep in touch with the feels of people around us and ourselves. Shopee launches its first-ever scholarship program in the Philippines




Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, launches its first-ever scholarship program called Shopee Scholars for the benefit of Shopee sellers and their families. Eligible Shopee sellers can sign up for a chance to receive a one-year scholarship worth ₱100,000 for their children.

Martin Yu, Associate Director at Shopee Philippines said, “Shopee is excited to launch its first-ever scholarship program with the aim of helping sellers achieve their hopes and dreams for their children. We want to further engage our sellers through this exciting program and help develop the Filipino youth to become future leaders and innovators.”

Starting July 19, Shopee sellers who are active for 6 months or more on the Shopee platform and have a shop rating of no less than 4 out of 5 stars can start nominating their children for the scholarship program. In order to qualify, their child must also be an incoming college student or currently enrolled in a university.

In order to participate, sellers need to follow these steps:
  1. Sign up through https://shopee.ph/shopee-scholars.
  2. Attach the necessary documents[1].
  3. Shopee scholarship nominee should  submit a 300-500 essay for the program.

The deadline for applications is on August 2, 2019.

Run at the National Milo Marathon 2019

One of the most awaited running event in the country is fast approaching!

Last May 25, a bloggers event was organized at the UP Bahay ng Alumni to announce the exciting happenings at the National Milo Marathon 2019.

  1. More Filipinos are shopping online

Metro Manila continued to be the online shopping capital of the Philippines, with the most orders recorded on Shopee since the turn of the year. However, online shopping is quickly becoming the norm nationwide, as Mindanao and Visayas are seeing rapid growth in online shopping activity on Shopee.

Shopee is also becoming the preferred e-commerce platform for Filipinos to find their favorite products. This is apparent as the number of keyword searches in the first quarter of 2019 increased by 2.5 times compared to the same period last year. Filipinos search most often for terms related to Electronics, Health and Beauty, and Fashion; with Xiaomi, Maybelline, and Vans among the most-searched brands so far in 2019.

  1. Geography shapes online shopping habits in the Philippines

Shopee has found that online shopping preferences differ across regions in the Philippines. For users in Metro Manila, Health & Beauty and Electronics are the top categories with Xiaomi, Realme, and Honor as the leading smartphone brands. In fact, Realme sold over 1,000 units of its brand-new Realme 3 smartphone in two flash sales, with the first flash sale on March 25 selling out in under an hour.

For shoppers outside the capital, they prefer to buy Fashion products online as they benefit from a massive assortment of products and styles. In Visayas and Mindanao, Korean-styled apparel and footwear are the most purchased items.

Filipino online shoppers are also most active during lunch and before bed. For instance, Shopee users from Metro Manila tend to shop online from 12NN to 2 PM. Meanwhile, users in Mindanao and Visayas are most active from 8 to 10 PM.

  1. Men are shopping online more often, and more widely

Finally, men are shopping online more as e-commerce becomes the norm in the Philippines. Shopping among male users has more than doubled on Shopee in the first quarter of 2019 compared to the same time last year.

Men are also more actively shopping for Fashion and Beauty products, aside from conventional categories such as Electronics and Gaming. Online shopping for skincare items is becoming especially common for men, with face masks ranking among the top 10 most popular products for male Shopee users in the first quarter of 2019.

After a few calls, Ms. Del Rosariospoke with LBC agent Jeca Poquita and TL Baylon Ausan and anxiously informed them that her consignee was scheduled to leave for abroad the next day and requested for the immediate delivery of her shipment. Agent Jeca and TL Baylon assured Ms. Del Rosario that her shipment would be delivered that same day and started to coordinate with other LBC employees to facilitate and monitor the delivery of Ms. Del Rosario’s shipment until it was successfully handed over to her consignee on that same day. On January 15, 2019, at the LBC Landmark Alabang Branch, Ms. Roehlyn Del Rosario was ableto personally meet Agent Jeca and TL Baylon via Aming Ligaya. It was evident that Ms. Del Rosario was eager to meet the two LBC employees since she chose to meet up with them even though she just recently gave birth. Ms. Del Rosario was smiling as she spoke with agent Jecaand TL Baylon and thanked them for their assistance. She even apologized to agent Jeca for her frantic demeanor during her follow up calls and explained that her anxiety about her shipment got the best of her at the time.

At the end of their meet, Ms. Del Rosario expressed her gratitude by saying that the service she received from agent Jeca and TL Baylon was extra-ordinary and their actions have given her the confidence and trust to continue using LBC for her future transactions. LBC Agent Jeca and TL Baylon were visibly happy and delighted as they met and interacted with Ms. Del Rosario. Jeca said that it was nice to speak with a customer face to face and feel

her sincere appreciation. Agent Jeca also mentioned that meeting Ms. Del Rosario made her realize how being sincere and dedicated to her job genuinely helped people. Both Agent and TL were likewise glad to meet a customer and said he was grateful that Ms. Del Rosario commended him personally. TL Baylon expressed that being part of LBC’s Aming Ligaya campaign made him want to continue serving more customers because it gave him the feeling of satisfaction knowing that all the effort he puts in his job pays off. The Aming Ligaya campaign is LBC’s way of shining the spotlight on LBC customers especially its exemplary employees and how essential it is to set a venue for them to interact after aservice has been well fulfilled. Moreover, through the campaign, LBC hopes to drive the message how much they value their people- and how committed they are in serving their customers the best way possible.
